Bath is a world heritage city so there is plenty to do and see. The most famous museums and attractions are:

Roman Baths, Thermae Spa, Costume Museum, The Assembly Rooms, Jane Austen Centre.

Free guided walking tours are available from the Pump Room (organised by the Mayor Guides)

There are regular festivals held - Music, Literature, Film. For details please see the Festivals Office

The famous Christmas Markets run for 10 days at the beginning of December. Dates for 2007 are Thursday 29th November to Sunday 9th December.

 


Evening Entertainment

As well as a good selection of reataurants Bath can also offer you some Fun and Culture:

Bath Theatre Royal, Bizzar Bath Evening Walk, Ghost Walks, Some reataurant have live music (Green Park Brasserie have live jazz.

In Summer the Roman Baths are open until 10pm and Thermae Spa also has evening sessions.

There are many places to visit around Bath. Most are about an hours drive away:

To the North you have the village of Castle Coombe and then a little further the Cotswolds. These include villages of Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold , Broadway, Morton in Marsh

To the South you have Stonehenge, Longleat . Salisbury is a little further than an hours drive. If you need a stop over in Salisbury you could try staying at the Cricket Field House

To the East you have Bradford-on-Avon and Avebury and Lacock

To the West you have Wells, Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge. Cardiff and South Wales are a little further - around -2 hours drive.

There are several organised tours you can take - Mad Max tours are highly recommended. They visit Stonehenge and the Cotswolds.

There are over 80 places to eat and drink in Bath. You can choose from chain restaurants, cafes, bistros or fine dinning. There are many small family run restaurants in Bath.
